We try to solve this equation: x^2 – x + 1 = 0
We do that by adding x – 1 on both sides: x^2 = x – 1
We multiply both sides by x: x^3 = x^2 – x
Add 1 on both sides: x^3 + 1 = x^2 – x + 1
Recognize the first equation in the right side: x^3 + 1 = 0
Subtract 1 on both sides: x^3 = -1
Take the cube root on both sides: x = -1
Check the answer: (-1)^2 – -1 + 1 = 0
